Someone Is Quite Unhappy

Now, on with the message....

I want someone to tell me exactly what the HOA is doing. I am not satisfied with anything that has transpired. Feels like I'm getting robbed. I was not satisfied with the explanation given to me or my neighbors about what they were going to take care of after the storm. I was told one thing about the fences then another and then another and so on. The only thing I see them doing is raising my fees and hitting my neighbors and me with notices that we have to cut our grass. I don't need a HOA for that.

I am aware that I signed up for this when I bought the place. I am also aware of their expenses and what they have to do. BUT I can not help but feel that they are not doing their job and I am just sending them my hard earned money for naught.

And who are these people that are our reps? My neighbors and I have no idea who they are and what they represent. I went to one shady meeting that was scheduled at 4pm when no one is off work and I was told that was done purposely so many of the people who live in our subdivision could not attend and air out their grievances. I'm not one for rumors or conjecture but it seems feasible to me. I've been hearing these concerns for months now and I'm expressing them for my neighborsand myself if nobody else will.

  1. I agree with you. I paid $350 dollars to have my fence replaced after Hurricane Ike, because our house sits on the main street. We replaced it, because we felt like it was a danger to our family to have my backyard exposed to the street. We sent a letter to the HOA (Board of Directors) with pictures of our damaged fence included. We justified our reason for being reimbursed for our fence, since they stated that they were going to fix it anyway. They ended up denying our claim to be reimbursed, because they stated it was our choice to fix the fence. They wanted us to wait 5 months before they started fixing our fences....crazy. We ended up paying $350 to fix our own fence and then another $340 for dues (Which included fixing our fence...again). They robbed us without even using a ski mask....

My wife and I are truly disappointed with the HOA. Every time we call the office we get some type of excuse. Well these are not excuses but facts:

    1. They ran out of money for landscaping at the end of last year (Poor management of funds).
    2. I am truly embarrassed the way the subdivision looks due to lack of lawn care from the HOA.
    3. HOA has done a poor job of letting people in the sub-division know when meetings are held.
    4. Some signs in the neighborhood are bent, turned in the wrong direction, or completely down.

The only way for some of this foolishness to end is for more people to speak up. One or two people will not get the job done, but it will take input from everyone who feels like they are being taken advantage of. I truly feel everyone's disgust with the whole situation. I did not sign up for any of this poor management when I decided to move into Brunswick Meadows. I am speaking for a number of my neighbors as well.

I have been frustrated since the time we could not get a straight up answer from our HOA that is robbing us blind!
